PHILOSOPHY, CULTURE STUDIES AND FINE ARTS FACULTY

Philosophy, Culture Studies and Fine Arts Faculty provides training in Philosophy, Culture Studies, Design, Landscape Architecture and Education. The Faculty consists of 3 departments: Philosophy Department, Musical Disciplines Department and Culture Studies and Fine Arts Department. Northwest Regional Research Centre for Religion and Culture Studies was established in 2009. It is the research area of the Faculty.

The Faculty has well-equipped modern art studios, multimedia computer labs and acoustic rooms for music classes. The teaching staff are 39 persons (including 9 Doctors of Science and 19 Candidates of Science). Subjects of creative nature, such as Design, Landscape Architecture, Fine Arts, are taught by teachers who are members of the Union of Artists of Russia and the Union of Designers of Russia.

There are Bachelor’s, Master’s and Postgraduate’s programmes (full-time tuition and part-time tuition) at the Faculty.

CAREER AND EMPLOYMENT

The graduates are engaged in many fields: from teaching at institutions of higher, secondary and elementary education to working in the system of printed and electronic mass media, publishing houses, film and TV companies, publicity and marketing structures.

The graduates take senior positions in federal, regional and municipal governments, in the field of culture and in developing cultural policies, programmes of multimedia communications, and socio-cultural sphere, in preserving cultural heritage. They carry out cultural, educational and creative activities in organizations and institutions of culture.

Graduates of Fine Arts Department can implement their creative potential at the market of such services as interior design, urban areas improvement, design of mass media products.
